About Harin's Stock Express
Hi, I'm Harin — an independent quantitative researcher and the sole writer behind Harin's Stock Express. I got hooked on data-driven investing in college, when I started building small statistical models to check whether the market stories I kept hearing actually held up in the numbers. Most of them didn't. That habit grew into a full research pipeline, and this blog is where I publish what it finds.
Everything here is written by me: I run the models, read the filings, build the charts, and take responsibility for the mistakes. I'm not a licensed financial adviser, and nothing on this site is personalized investment advice — it is independent research, published so you can check my work.
What this site covers
- Quantitative fair-value reports on large-cap US stocks (NVDA, MSFT, GOOGL, AMZN, MU, INTC and others), built around earnings-based payback-period analysis.
- 3x leveraged ETF research (SOXL and peers): volatility drag, decay math, and when leverage is — and isn't — survivable.
- Macro and event analysis — Fed policy, semiconductor cycles, earnings season — always through a quantitative lens rather than narrative.
- Research diary posts where I document what my models got wrong and what I changed afterwards.
How every analysis is made
- Data collection. Company fundamentals from SEC filings (10-K/10-Q) and official earnings releases, plus daily price and volume history for each ticker covered.
- Modeling. The core tool is a payback-period valuation: how many years of earnings, at consensus growth rates, it would take to "pay back" today's share price. Momentum, value, and volatility-regime signals supplement it.
- Backtesting and sanity checks. Signals are tested against historical data before they appear in a post. When a model fails out of sample, I say so in the open — see the research diary posts.
- Risk framing. Ideas are presented with maximum-drawdown and volatility assumptions, never just an upside target.
Figures in each post are as of the publication date shown on that post and are not silently updated afterwards; material errors are corrected with a visible note.
